So I actually reading the Boston Herald today, something I never do, but the Times was missing, damn students, and found out that they have caught Mia Zapata's murderer. It was ten years ago now that she was raped and murdered.

It really struck a chord with me when I was an undergrad at UVM, it was the first time I had heard of such a brutal crime and was insprired by "Home Alive" the self-defense organization that formed in response. Being a DJ at WRUV at the time I play a lot of Gits and tracks from the Home Alive compilation in my own little form of support. At that time taking a self-defense class became an important goal for me (and one that I just achieved this winter).
