Fear of a Female Planet

I thought this line was pretty spot-on:

a garden-variety case of a middle-aged narcissist grappling with the biggest insult he had ever faced: getting older.

The last time I hung out with queen_puff_puff, we were talking about the whole business of women who suddenly start going on about how they're a 'cougar' and how it suspiciously sound a lot like like the same set of 'my whole self image is based in my youth/physical appearance, therefore I'm freaking out about getting old' that you find going on in men. Not that I'm ready to start playing Bingo and doing Geritol shots, but it makes me glad that my own self worth has always been more about what's internal than external.
