Jacquelyn and I were just discussing this this morning. It's really unfortunate that when race enters the picture Obama was able to give a speech addressing race issues and was widely applauded for it. However, early in the campaign, when Hillary gave that speech at her alma mater about the glass ceiling and women's rights, she got accused of playing the gender card - same with her "emotional" moment in New Hampshire being "blamed" for her win there. As I said before, I knew from the start that having these tgwo as the front runners would bring these issues to the foreground (much to the chagrin of the racism/sexism-is-over crowd) and hopefully - well, the hope is that this election will show that, or at least move us toward a point where there are more progressive, enlightened people for once, and no longer a majority of morons.
