Hrmm... I have a problem with the report from the fella who would tell us to remove scabs. I have to disagree with that one. While a scab will usually come off by itself, I'm always been taught to keep it on when it covers lacerations, as it helps the cells stitch themselves together faster. Makes me wonder. I can kind of understand how keeping a scab there TOO long could increase the chance of scarring... to a point, as I would suppose the new skinn underneath would need a chance to grow and cover the area, not being constricted by the scab. The whole exposing to air thing, I've never understood anyway, as you're opening up your body's protection against infection (the skin) with a cut, so letting it be exposed to air always seemed like a bad idea to me. =-)
