There was a very good article on Dean in the New York Times Sunday Magazine: "Dr. No and the Yes Men"

Some great quotes from the article:

"After the speech, I meet Merlin Ackerson, 70, who tells me that he and his wife have found their candidate. I ask him if he thinks Dean can win. ''I'm getting to the point where I think it's better to lose with someone like that,'' he replies, ''than to have all this me-tooism."

"His positions are almost irrelevant; it's the way he takes positions that counts. Dean crackles with toughness and conviction -- two attributes that have gone missing from his party. Dean is the anti-Gore."

"Every one of those other guys -- they ameliorate, they move around," [Rob] Reiner said. "I'm sick of it. Let me tell you something about Howard Dean. This isn't some laid-down, namby-pamby liberal. This mother is tough."

"Dean's campaign, meanwhile, has become an online juggernaut. On the Web site Meetup.com, some 24,000 Dean supporters, at last count, had scheduled monthly meetings in more than 250 American cities. "You've heard of the silent majority?" says Frank Luntz, the Republican pollster. "Well, Dean represents the screaming minority."

... and I noticed the article is the 7th most popular article sent by NYTimes.com readers in the last 24 hours.
