Yoshimi has taken to rattling her cage with her feeding tube...

Yoshimi has added the tail to her pose:

And this is the look she gives me when I put her back in the crate:

And she has taken to rattling the cage bars with her feeding tube:

Things are slowly, slowly improving. She hasn't peed outside the box since Sunday and has only thrown up twice in the past week and both were very small (quarter size) watery vomits. I have heard her eating kibble for the past four nights (although it must just be one or two pieces, because the bowl isn't going down) and while she is still weak, she isn't wobbly anymore.

She has another check up on Tuesday, but I am hopeful that I can escape for two nights next weekend for camping. I've been able to get some work done now that I have my netbook back and have incorporated a few things back into my schedule (running! yoga!) and escaped the house a few times to visit with friends. Next week will be an experiment in getting actual research done.

Last night we did bouldering - ouch! Bouldering is climbing without a harness and looks desceptively easy because you stay pretty low and I think most people think climbing is about height. You spend at leat 75% of your time bouldering staring at the wall and talking to people, working out the problem. You can really see the difference in how men and women climb when you watch people bouldering - men power up with upper body strength, women move more gracefully and use their lower body strength:

Man powering through (but with some nice moves):

So glad yoshimi is starting to feel better!

This may sound like a dumb suggestion, but maybe switching out the kibble for "fresh" might make it more appealing to her?

Or, is she allowed to have any kind of kibble? i find my cats go NUTS over kitten food kibble, I think it has more fat in it or something, they get it for treats.

I dunno, just a thought... maybe she has to have very special food given her delicate digestive system right now. Just thought I would mention it in case you are trying to entice her to eat more on her own.

It's not a dumb suggestion, but two things: Yoshimi has never liked anything other than dry food (she doesn't even like treats or tuna fish) and she is on a special Liver Disease diet. I've tried offering her the wet L/D food that I am making her feeding tube food from, but she doesn't even sniff at it.

Oh well, thought I would try!

Liver Disease Diet. :(

i am currently bored/disillusioned with my gym partly because they only have guys setting routes right now, and most of them end problems with stupid reach-y moves that most people under 5'10" can't do, especially us ladies. when i can't finish a problem that is 2 levels below my normal bouldering level, then you're setting something wrong.

Our intructor was actually pointing out routes that women make, perhaps subtly making that point...

I have this mental image of Yoshimi rattling the bars while meowing "ATTICA! ATTICA!"

And I'm a crappy climber, but while I know it's good training, bouldering has just never been much fun for me.
