That convent is about a mile and a half from where my parents live - we drive past it all the time when I'm home. The building is absolutely massive; it even looks more like a hospital than it does a motherhouse, especially in comparison to the old one. (I think Nazareth College, which was founded by the SSJ in the 1920s - all the college presidents were nuns until about 1975 - bought the old one, but I can't remember.)
This is neither here nor there when it comes to death and dying, of course - but I was interested to see the article, since we've been wondering why the new building is big. If it's administering pallitive and end-of-life care to that many nuns and priests in the order, however, it's not surprising.
