Dengue sucks. There was an outbreak in Costa Rica when I was there, and they cancelled the Carnival festivities in Limon. My friend had it a couple months before I got there. It's not terrible if you can get treated, but if you get it twice, you're a goner.
That is why you don't drink rain water out of coconuts.
