Ebert love

Quote of the day:

Roger Ebert's review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull:

"I can say that if you liked the other Indiana Jones movies, you will like this one, and that if you did not, there is no talking to you."

That's a relief then. *whew*

I'm glad to hear that, some of the initial reviews out of Cannes were pretty discouraging. And we all know how skilled George Lucas is at shitting all over things he revisits...

Some of us actually like the prequels...

But... but... horrendously cheesy romance dialogue... overdone & too-polished special effects... JAR JAR...

does... not... compute...

*gasp!*

Hehe, honestly though, what do you like about the prequels?

I think I'm really going to enjoy it, simply based on the previews. One thing I always remind myself about the IJ films is how intentionally campy they are - Spielberg and Lucas were revisiting the adventure films of their youth! Plus, I love the idea of Cate Blanchett as a villain, and I am thrilled to see the return of Marion Ravenwood!

Exactly - only this franchise can get away with the camp.

Okay, THAT made me laugh out loud.
