HP Magic Giveaway

badgerbag is part of this amazing HP giveaway - it's more gear than you could ever know what to do with and thus part of the contest is to talk about who you would give the rest of it away to and why. I entered and talked about how I really only covet the HP mini (I'm easy to please, really!) and that the remainder of the gear would be a great endowment to my department to give to next years' incoming class to entice prospective candidates. We don't have the money that Harvard or Johns Hopkins do, but with have students with heart and passion for the profession and the field.

If you haven't checked out her blog you really should. Besides liveblogging conventions (like Wiscon!) she discusses feminism, SF/F, disability, and technology. For example, she pointed me to an excellent discussion of how we exceptionalize the past, especially when it comes to sexism or racism.
