Eh, I'm not really bothered by it. Like I said, there's a lot of very unhappy people out there who just can't compete on the mate market. As technology advances, machines are only going to get better and better at simulating human interaction. If someone's able to feel happy and loved with their android, as opposed to suffering a lifetime of depression and rejection from humans, what's wrong with that?
Hell, a machine with a fairly high level of interactive capability could even be a very valuable therapy tool for helping people with socialization problems learn the ropes too.
