AS I'm sure you've heard me state, my only issue with this is the assumption by the deaf community that deafness is like blue eyes, just something you have and it's totally normal. I believe your reality is defined by your perceptions and they are missing an entire perceptual apparatus and I find it disgusting and discriminatory the way they treat individuals in their deaf culture who choose to rectify that situation.

And statments like “She’s very critical of deaf culture, because she married somebody who hears.” make no sense to me at all. It's become very reverse-prejudice for many in that culture. I realize that way back the deaf were discriminated against and signing even banned in schools, but now that everything has been fixed and they are no longer discriminated against, they've turned the other way and discriminate against hearing people and deaf people who wish to hear.
