That book looks interesting, too- I've been wanting to read something that's a bit more of an overview with a wide historical range and nottoo much theory. :) I think the Cassidy book will fit my needs because I'm looking for some "escapist" nonfiction, if that makes sense, to distract me from all the heavy nonfiction reading I've been doing.
