But academia has been going through this for hundreds of years - one group says they should be more focused on the public and another could care less - and honestly, there are a lot of academic disciplines that would disappear if they were dependent on public attention. I'm actually not too keen on academic blogging, that's why I like the more secure Livejournal format.
